In John 10:10, Jesus says: "The thief comes to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that you might have life and have it to the full." The life that God intends for us is the best possible life that we can imagine. It's one that we see perfectly in Jesus, in his life of closeness and intimacy with God. Of knowing God's heart and living it out in, and for, the world. It is a self-giving, self-sacrificing love. One that can't be lived out insolation - but in our relationships, with God and with others.
Sex, Lies & Netflix is a series about relationships, sex and experiencing the full life that God has created each of us for.
We live in a culture that is obsessed with sex and romantic relationships. It's in our movies, our magazines, our music and television shows. We hear about it in our schools. It's hard to avoid, even if you try.
The problem is, so much of what we hear about and see, simply isn't true. It's Hollywood. It's special effects. It's clever or funny writing that grabs our attention and imagination. It's lies.
And these lies, when we start to believe them and live into them, pull us away from experiencing the full life that God has for us.
Throughout this series, we will talk about the full life that God has created each of us for and expose some of the lies that we have been told about sex and relationships that get in the way.
