The Healthy Sex Talk article
"The Good Men Project" has posted a fantastic article on teaching your children about sex.
While not written by Christians, there is a great deal here that Christians should read and take seriously.
One overall takeaway from the article is the importance of, not so much having one specific "sex talk" with your child but rather, having multiple conversations about sex/sexuality as the child grows and matures.
I don't necessarily agree with every talking point, but I think that this is something all parents (regardless of their children's age) should read with discernment.

A great book on Sex (and not having sex)
Throughout our Sex, Lies & Netflix series I will be posting on great books/resources that are worth your attention.
One fantastic book that I recommend is Lauren F. Winner's Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity. It is one of the best books I have read on the topic. Throughout the book, Winner examines the important role of sex and chastity within the church while at the same time confronting many of the popular lies that the church is guilty of perpetuating.
It is a book that everyone should read (regardless if you're single or married, a parent or a student). Please order it from your local library or purchase it from wherever you buy books.

SEX, LIES & NETFLIX 2.0: What this series is about
In John 10:10, Jesus says: "The thief comes to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that you might have life and have it to the full." The life that God intends for us is the best possible life that we can imagine. It's one that we see perfectly in Jesus, in his life of closeness and intimacy with God. Of knowing God's heart and living it out in, and for, the world. It is a self-giving, self-sacrificing love. One that can't be lived out insolation - but in our relationships, with God and with others.
Sex, Lies & Netflix is a series about relationships, sex and experiencing the full life that God has created each of us for.
We live in a culture that is obsessed with sex and romantic relationships. It's in our movies, our magazines, our music and television shows. We hear about it in our schools. It's hard to avoid, even if you try.
The problem is, so much of what we hear about and see, simply isn't true. It's Hollywood. It's special effects. It's clever or funny writing that grabs our attention and imagination. It's lies.
And these lies, when we start to believe them and live into them, pull us away from experiencing the full life that God has for us.
Throughout this series, we will talk about the full life that God has created each of us for and expose some of the lies that we have been told about sex and relationships that get in the way.
